Codium decorticatum
Dead Man Fingers

Reef Tank Suitable, Fish-Only Tank Suitable

Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow muddy bays and harbors, usually during summer months.

Aquarium Suitability: This infrequently seen and slow growing green calcareous turf alga forms thick and study finger-like filaments that are somewhat buoyant, yet nice looking and havens for small crustaceans. Can reach 12 inches (30 cm) in height and is easily dislodged, breaking into smaller pieces and disintegrating. But if controlled, could make for a nice looking and somewhat useful alga, yet no home aquarium information seems to be available as of 2016. Nevertheless, only suited for nutrient rich environments.
A spongy green algae that features dark green, cylindrical branches, connected by a single holdfast to rocks, shell fragments and hard bottoms. The branching is irregular and features soft fuzzy filaments at the tips resembling the fingers of a sponge. Individual species of Codium are abundant in shallow water habitats worldwide.

You will receive several clusters between 4-6" in diameter.
